Start With Gratitude vs. Dreading The Day


Experts say your attitude for the day is set in the first few minutes of the morning.


Left on my own, that is not necessarily good news, as I sometimes wake up dreading the day ahead.


Thankfully I don’t stay there long.


My mornings start with a daily quiet time with God, who fills my heart with gratitude by readjusting my thoughts to all the right things.


Mornings are my time to be alone with God in silence and the pages of His Word. As Philippians 4:8 states, His Word directs our thinking to “whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”


God knows that gratitude is good for us; it increases the quality of our lives and makes us appreciate the things that matter.
